About the role

As an IT & Security Operations Manager, you will take ownership of our internal IT operations and help us build a more structured, scalable, and secure group-level IT function. You will work hands-on with systems, vendors, and processes to ensure our IT environment supports business goals securely and effectively. This role is not just about reactive problem-solving; it’s about improving how things are done and shifting our operations towards proactive, documented, and repeatable workflows.

This role allows for extensive remote work, with the expectation that you can work from our Helsinki or Turku office 1-2 days a week on an as-needed basis.

Your work tasks

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Directing our external IT partner: Acting as the operational owner for our IT partner, who handles the practical execution of day-to-day support tickets, system configurations, and IT development projects.

• Managing IT operations and elevating end-user support: Owning the overall internal IT support process, overseeing the MSP's performance to improve response times, and preventing recurring issues.

• Streamlining joiner, mover, and leaver processes: Collaborating with HR and management to design the workflows, while coordinating with our IT partner for the technical execution of onboarding and offboarding.

• Administering the Microsoft environment and endpoint management: Overseeing Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Intune to ensure devices and tools are used effectively and securely, while utilizing the MSP for technical implementations.

• Controlling identity and access management: Working with the CISO to manage permissions and conduct regular access reviews, and orchestrating the provisioning of accounts.

• Coordinating device, asset, and SaaS administration: Maintaining hardware inventories and overseeing our SaaS applications and their system owners.

• Optimizing license management and IT spend visibility: Working with Finance to track subscriptions, renewals, internal allocations, and overall IT costs.

• Executing practical security operations: Helping to implement IT-related operational controls, ensuring device encryption, and collecting evidence for client security reviews.

• Driving automation, reporting, and AI-enabled improvement: Leveraging AI, automation, and documentation to build scalable IT workflows and improve practical productivity.

We are looking for

• Experience in IT operations, IT support management, systems administration, endpoint management, or a similar role.

• Practical experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID / Azure AD, MFA, conditional access, Intune, and user lifecycle management.

• A good understanding of access management, device management, SaaS administration, and basic security controls.

• Ability to document processes, maintain evidence, and pragmatically improve operating routines.

• Excellent communication skills—fluent written and spoken English is required to collaborate with global teams, management, and vendors.

• Financial understanding to manage licenses, renewals, subscriptions, and cost visibility.

• Willingness to work hands-on while building better processes, along with an interest in AI, automation, and productivity improvement.

• It is considered an advantage if you have Finnish language skills, experience with tools like Microsoft Defender or Sentinel, or a background in coordinating external IT vendors.
