Neurotar is a life sciences company that provides imaging services for pharmaceutical industry and develops research devices for the basic research in the neurosciences. Our Mobile HomeCage (MHC) line of products serves the needs of researchers using two-photon imaging, electrophysiology or optogenetics and working or planning to work with live mice and rats. In two years from product launch, the Mobile HomeCage has made its way into two dozen labs worldwide.
We are looking for a highly motivated scientist to strengthen Neurotar's support function.
This is an ideal opportunity for an academic scientist contemplating a transition to industry - your background in neuroscience research would provide a valuable source of customer knowledge, while we would teach you the rest on the job.
Education: MSc in Neuroscience (or related fields), PhD is a plus
Animal models: mouse (rat models in addition to mouse models are a plus)
Lab experience in 2-photon imaging, electrophysiology or optogenetics is not required but highly desirable
Soft skills: service mentality, good listener and team player, excellent communication skills (no phone aversion), excellent time management, ability to multi-task
Languages: excellent written and oral communication in English (other languages are a plus)
Understand and effectively communicate Mobile HomeCage (MHC) features and benefits to customers, prospects, sales and product development partners;
Provide technical/scientific support to customers, Neurotar's staff, sales partners, prospects and product development partners;
Collect information about MHC compatibility with other research equipment, aid in making MHC products compatible with other research equipment;
Assist in planning and implementing marketing actions, such as email campaigns, product & website updates;
Aid in developing documentation for product release, training and use;
Help organize MHC trade shows, roadshows and demos, and participate in them;
Maintain close relationships with the reference labs and MHC users - aid in and collect information about their projects;
Prepare products for shipment to customers, reference labs and demos;
Manage trials and product returns;
Collect user feedback and product development requests;
Carry out proof-of-concept and validation experiments (optional, but highly desired).
This position is based in Helsinki, but it will require travel to Europe, North America and possibly other destinations. In the long-term, this job allows adding (or transferring to) sales or product management functions.
